This discussion started several weeks ago, when a reader from out of town emailed me asking where the best Steak & Italian Restaurants were to enjoy Christmas and New Years. We discussed it on the Inside West Palm Beach radio show (around the 52 minute mark), with Barry O’Brien and came up with the following.
Please note that you’ll probably want reservations, and by the time you’re reading this, that ship may have sailed.
Christmas: Il Billagio at CityPlace – this is a fantastic Italian restaurant. You can get a table outside and view the Christmas Tree and colorful fountains of CityPlace. It’s just a couple blocks from Clematis Street and makes for a great place to stroll through.
Other Italian options: Brio (CityPlace), Santucci (600 block), Lynora’s Osteria (200 block)
New Years: Morton’s – Great steaks, and it’s right by the waterfront so you’d be in the perfect place to stroll out and watch the fireworks on the waterfront.
Other Steak houses: Okeechobee Steak house (this is a classic, with a bit older decor). Flagler Steakhouse at the Breakers.
If you’re looking throughout Palm Beach County, then check out this New Times article for the best places to eat. Their list include these local(ish) places:
- Waterstone Resort & Marina (Boca)
- The Little Chalet Steak and Fondue Haus (Boca)
- Pistache French Bistro (Clematis Street)
- Hudson at Waterway East (Delray)
- Tanzy (Boca)
- McCoy’s Oceanfront (Pompano)
- 3800 Ocean (Singer Island)
- Oceans 234 (Deerfield Beach)
Palm Beach Post got in on the action with another nice list including, but not limited to:
- Café Boulud (Palm Beach)
- City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill
- The Leopard Lounge and Restaurant at the Chesterfield Hotel (Palm Beach)
- Meat Market Palm Beach (Palm Beach)
And finally some more local favorites thanks to the DDA’s great list of things to do during the holidays and others on Engage WPB who contributed suggestions.
